Your baby is growing
At 15 weeks, your baby measures around 4 inches, from head to rump and weighs as much as an apple. At this stage, she circulates the amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract. This helps in the development of the primitive air sacs in her lungs. By now, she can move her limbs and joints and her legs grow to be longer than her arms. At this stage she can sense light. Even though she can’t taste too much, her taste buds are developing. This also a good time for determining the sex of the baby through ultra-sound, but that doesn’t matter.
Your life at 15 weeks

You would have put on some weight by 15 weeks. However, there could be symptoms like a stuffed nose, which happens with the combined effect of hormonal changes and increased blood flow to your mucous membrane. This common condition during pregnancy is called ‘rhinitis of pregnancy.’ Don’t get alarmed if there is nose bleed, which happens due to an increase blood volume and blood vessel expansion in the nose.
Now you can undergo an Amniocentesis test, which can taken between 15 – 18 weeks. Genetic or chromosomal disorders can be identified through this test. A lot of women undergo the Amniocentesis test and have always been pleased with the results.
In this trimester, there will be less of physical discomforts and more energy building up in you.
