Your baby is growing
From 16 weeks onwards, your baby is all set to grow. His legs are more developed by now and his head, more erect. There are changes in his eyes and ears too. While his eyes move closer to the front of his head, his ears get nearer to the right position. Toe nails start growing and patterning on his scalp begins. And now, his heart pumps about 25 quarts of blood, everyday. This will increase, as your baby grows.
Your life at 16 weeks
The round ligaments that support the top of your uterus are thickening and stretching as it grows. Changes are happening and at this stage of pregnancy you are feeling a lot better with less of nausea and mood swings. Your skin glows and now the most amazing feeling overcomes you, of feeling your baby move. Some women might feel this at 16 weeks, and some others at 18 or 20 weeks. Initially, your baby’s movement give the feeling of flutters, gas bubbles and even popping. During the ensuing weeks, your baby’s movements gets more frequent and prominent.
